- Wow I love that you read my whole blog and overstood the Knowledge :-) Give thanks! Sorry it took me a min, havent been on TrueSkool since and just saw your question. I love challenges! Hit me with the answer! I do know that Druids believed that trees were given spirits and attributes from the Sun, which was perceived as a symbol of the Supreme Being. Thus, trees were considered living entities, possessed with Infinite Knowledge and Wisdom...symbolically representative of the Cyle of Life, Death and Renewal.But I don't know the wood in the winter solstice?!!! Do tell!

- GZA AND DEL ADDED TO FORECASTLE LINEUP!
Forecastle is thrilled to announce the addition of Wu-Tang Clan founder GZA and Heiroglyphics founder Del the Funky Homosapien as co-headliners of the festival's opening night, July 25th at the Riverfront Belvedere. Largely viewed as the masterminds behind two of hip-hop's most influential dynasties, they unite together to take the place of Wu-Tang's Method Man, who was originally scheduled but can no longer appear.
Other acts on the 3-day line-up include The Disco Biscuits, Tortoise, Z-Trip, The Del McCoury Band, Ekoostik Hookah, Dr. Dog, The New Mastersounds, Extra Golden, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, and many more. Last month it was announced that acclaimed environmentalist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be the keynote speaker. Kick-off and after-party line-ups to be announced shortly.

The GZA (also known as The Genius) is the oldest member of the Wu-Tang Clan and the cousin of the group's founder, RZA. Known for his smooth, scimitar-sharp flow and vivid storytelling abilities, his discography includes the hip-hop classic Liquid Swords, with successful follow ups Beneath the Surface, Legend of the Liquid Sword, and most recently, Grandmasters.
Del the Funky Homosapian is the cousin of renowned rapper Ice Cube, and founder of the influential underground hip-hop collective Heiroglypics. Both his debut "Third Eye Vision" and follow-up "Deltron 3030" garnered extreme praise for their combination of beats and flow and futuristic style. In 2001, Del was included on BLUR frontman Damon Albarn's project Gorillaz, adding his recognizable vocals to the hit "Clint Eastwood," a song that he also began incorporating in his live sets. Del is currently working on his 11th studio album.
Tickets are available via TicketWeb, Ticketmaster, and select independent record stores, including ear X-tacy Records in Louisville, CD Central in Lexington, Euclid Records in St. Louis, Grimey's in Nashville, Indy CD & Vinyl in Indianapolis, Landlocked Records in Bloomington, and Shake-It Records in Cincinnati. Advanced tickets range from $15 – 20 per day, day of show $18 – 23. Two-day and three-day passes are available, as well as a limited number of VIP passes at $50 a day.
