Based in the Bay Area, True Skool (est' 99) is a multi-media music and lifestyle marketing company and online magazine covering urban events, progressive music and styles, hip hop history, politics, lifestyle and culture. With a background as concert/party promoters, True Skool has built a brand and reputation for quality events featuring world class hip hop legends and emerging talent. In 2000, True Skool won "Best of the Bay" in the SF Bay Guardian. Our events have featured Afrika Bambaataa, Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Jazzy Jeff, Lyrics Born, DJ Premier, Cocoa Brovaz, Dan the Automator, Peanut Butter Wolf, The Coup, Immortal Technique, Aceyalone, Supernatural, A-Trak, The Herbiliser, Jean Grae, J-Live, Medusa, Aceyalone, Masta Ace, Cali Agents, The Coup, DJ Cash Money, Triple Threat DJs, Breakestra, Immortal Technique, Special Ed, Wise Intelligent, Zion I, Crown City Rockers, People Under the Stairs, and the list goes on.

our mission is to preserve hip hop's legacy by paying tribute to the pioneers who paved the way, providing a platform for emerging independent artists who continue to push the envelope and spreading the gospel of hip hop. Our vision is inspired by Afrika Bambaataa & the Zulu Nation, DJ Red Alert, Mister Magic's Rap Attack, VJ Ralph McDaniel's "Video Music Box", MTV Raps, Strech Armstrong & Bobbito, Sway & Tech's "Wake Up Show", Ego Trip, 88HipHop.com, Davey D, KRS-One, Chuck D, Tools of War and many other purveyors of hip hop culture.

The Website

The Site has a multitude of features that incorporate all of the popular social networking sites, such as YouTube, MySpace, Imeem, Going, and much more. You can search events, post your favorite videos, add music to your player (then embed your player anywhere), promote your music, invite friends to your events and blog. Join a Group directory and promote your business. Post a Bulletin to promote a new release, post newsworthy articles, sell your product, suggest a link or recommend a movie or book.
