Directed by Adrian Per, the video has an old school vibe, as E-40 and Yhung T.O. chill on a rooftop while 40 showcases his classic wordplay. According to the Bay Area legend, the inspiration for the video came from wanting to give it a retro feel. "It’s a old school slap with a new school hook we wanted to give it that retro feel wanted to bring what the song felt like to life," 40 Water tell XXL.
With both artists hailing from Vallejo, Calif., 40 says he wanted to bring a young hook to an old school track and felt that T.O. was the perfect choice. "First off, we are both from Vallejo," 40 shares. "I wanted to bring a young hook to a classic old-school soul slap. I knew that Yhung T.O. [would] crush it just like I expected. He did dat!"
"These Days" is featured on E-40's latest album, The Gift of Gab. The first of a three-part series, the 12-song tracklist features guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples, G Perico, Kent Jones and more.
